Godvine Stories

The Power of One
How powerful can One be? Check this out :)

One song can spark a moment
One flower can wake the dream
One tree can start a forest
One bird can herald spring
One smile begins a friendship
One handclasp lifts a soul
One star can guide a ship at sea
One word can frame the goal
One vote can change a nation
One sunbeam lights a room
One candle wipes out darkness
One laugh will conquer gloom
One step must start each journey
One word must start a prayer
One hope will raise our spirits
One touch can show you care
One voice can speak with wisdom
One heart can know what is true
One Life can make a difference

To Be Enormously Gorgeous
This is a good story both for kids and their parents. In a world that can lack love and acceptance, it's important that we give our children what they need and deserve.

My dad says I am enormously gorgeous. I wonder if I really am.

To be enormously gorgeous... Sarah says you need to have beautiful long, curly hair like she has.

I don't.

To be enormously gorgeous... Justin says you must have perfectly straight white teeth like he has.

I don't.

To be enormously gorgeous... Jessica says you can't have any of those little brown dots on your face called freckles.

I do.

To be enormously gorgeous... Mark says you have to be the smartest kid in the seventh-grade class.

I'm not.

To be enormously gorgeous... Stephen says you have to be able to tell the funniest jokes in the school.

I don't.

To be enormously gorgeous... Lauren says you need to live in the nicest neighborhood in town and in the prettiest house.

I don't.

To be enormously gorgeous... Matthew says you can only wear the coolest clothes and the most popular shoes.

I don't.

To be enormously gorgeous... Samantha says you need to come from a perfect family.

I don't.

But every night at bedtime my dad gives me a big hug and says, "You are enormously gorgeous, and I love you."

My dad must know something my friends don't.

Cheering Me On
Losing a loved one is the hardest thing in life, but stories like this really show that they're still there, cheering us on.
------

I close my eyes as tight as they can go.

The lights go off, and my imagination switches on. Pictures flash through my mind like an old film from the fifties.

I remember driving home by myself for the first time. Now, I look into the future and imagine that I am walking across the stage to receive my college diploma. The years pass, and I hear my fianc é say "I do." I look further and listen to the gentle gurgles coming from my baby's nursery. A smile discreetly appears as memories past and thoughts of the future travel through my soul.

I journey to memories of my high school graduation, and a tear suddenly trickles down my cheek. I look into the bleachers packed with families and friends. I see my parents wrapped in pride, and I look to their side for Katie and Kevin's approval. But Katie, my older sister, is not there.

My eyes abruptly open as I am snapped back into reality. I remember being called out of Spanish class in tenth grade and taken to the hospital to see Katie, who had cancer, for the final time. It was an excruciating task, but I found the good in Katie's tragic death.

Katie's room is exactly the way she left it on a Friday night in September, 1993, when she was carried to the ambulance on a stretcher. Her James Dean poster hangs on one wall; her elementary school track ribbons and collection of porcelain masks hangs on the others. Her bed is neatly made and lined with stuffed animals -- typical of a girl who would visit her sloppier friends and, without prompting, start vacuuming their rooms.

Katie died just a few weeks into her freshman year at the University of Miami. At eighteen she was 5'5'' tall and had straight shoulder length blond hair, big blue eyes, and pale clear skin. Her senior year in high school, Katie was the varsity cheerleader captain and valedictorian.

More importantly, though, she was my best friend. After all, when she was six years old, she had declared herself old enough to take care of her little sister and brand new baby brother, because she thought our mother was not sharing us enough with her. This caring attitude continued throughout her life. Katie would always braid my hair, go shopping with me, and let me go out with her and her friends when I was lonely and bored. Katie would always tutor Kevin, who has a learning disability, when he needed help with his homework. She would continually drill him on his studies until he got it right. Afterwards, she would take him to go get ice cream as a reward. Clearly, Katie was not just our older sister. She was also our teacher, friend, and second mother.

Katie always surrounded herself with friends. She was constantly opening her ears, heart, and arms to someone in need. The phone was constantly ringing and her room was always crowded with people in it. Now, my house is silent.

I realize that getting caught in a pool of depression only leads to drowning. I live by looking for the positive in the worst situations. I now have a relationship with my parents and brother that means everything to me. I know what is important in life, and it is not always partying and getting A's. But most of all, I know that I can handle anything. Life is not easy, but I overcame one of its toughest obstacles.

I believe, the hardest part of death is the experiences it steals. Katie will not be clapping for me when I finally get my college diploma or giving me advice on my wedding day. My children will only hear stories of the girlhood of their aunt, both stories of reality and an imagined future.

I close my eyes as tight as they can go.

A diploma is placed in my hand. "I do" echoes from a distance. Katie says she loves me and hugs me tight on a September afternoon in 1993. Just before I cross my high school auditorium stage, I look out at the spectators in the bleachers, and I see mother and father and Kevin.

Katie is sitting right beside them, cheering me on.

Say the Unsaid Things
You never know what tomorrow will bring....

----

"I didn't take your cigarettes!" I half yelled rudely.

"Okay, whatever..." said the deep, grouchy voice I knew too well.

"OK well I'm going." I said dryly.

"Aaa-lright."

And with the click of the telephone I turned away and headed off to be with some friends.

Moments before I had learned that my mother, sister, brother, and step-father were leaving to go on vacation without me. In a terrible fit of jealousy, I let my displeasure be known. I went on and on about how messed up it was I was not invited and how my family did not love me. Just on and on. This rode well into the next day.

July 16,1999 is my step-father's 50th birthday. It was going to be his first birthday party ever. My mother had told me two or three times, so I was well aware. I had planned to be there at my dad's first birthday party, (even though every since I had hit adolescence, we never seen eye to eye and fought constantly) but in the "situation" I thought he had put me in and in my moment of pure selfishness and resentfulness, I decided to say I'd show and just not go.

All the better, my friend called and asked me to go with her to her family reunion ... a perfect excuse!

So at about 10 that night I called home collect. It was busy so I left a collect message for later delivery.

"Mom I left your shorts at Aunt Sheila's. If you want them before you leave on vacation tomorrow, better go get em'."

No I love you.

No be careful.

No tell dad happy birthday.

All the way to Ohio with my friend, I bad mouthed him and my mom for marrying him. I felt so angry and left out. I blamed it all on him. It was always Denny's fault. I just knew he had been the one to suggest not taking me. We never got along it seemed.

Eventually we arrived at our destination and tucked in for the night. I never thought twice about my family. Never one thought of all the fun they were probably having at Denny's birthday party. Not once about the excitement they all had for leaving on vacation tomorrow. Just myself.

The next morning after I had got ready, my friend and her family hit the road to meet the rest of them at an all day reunion. We had stopped at K-mart. One of Kelly's relatives pulled up to her car.

"Jara, you need to call home something bad happened." she had said.

"What," I asked, "who?"

"Your step-dad had a heart attack or something." she replied.

"Is he OK?" I said quietly, as I began to shake.

"I do not know, you'll have to call." and she drove away.

I got out of the car, headed towards a nearby telephone booth. I dialled collect. My mom's voice came over the line.

"Jara..." mom said meekly.

"Mom what happened, are you OK?" I asked.

"Denny's dead ... come home, please Jara, come home."

"OK mom, I'll be there," I said quietly, "I love you."

My legs were rubber, I couldn't talk, tears were flooding my eyes and running down my face.

That night at his birthday party, after the guests had left, Denny had suffered a massive heart attack. It was caused from emphysema and heart disease, that even he never knew about. He died in my mother's arms.

You see, I never made peace with Denny I never took the time to show how really important to me he was. I never took the time to tell him he was my Daddy.

He had been there when my biological dad hadn't. He was the one who clothed, fed, and sheltered me as long as I can remember. He was the one that rubbed my belly for hours when I was home sick from school. He was the one who helped me move into my first apartment. He was the one that tried till his death bed to give me values and responsibility. He was the one man in my life I knew that would love me unconditionally. I never told him how much all that meant to me. I never told him that he was my daddy.

After all this, I've learned it so important not to let things go unsaid, no matter how minor or major. Even though I know Denny knew I loved him, I would feel so much better knowing for sure he knew because I hurt him in so many ways. And you see, he never complained.

More Poems!!

Rain(c) April 3, 2005
Rain is wet.
It makes everything
soggy and muddy.

But it's also good.
It helps things to grow
and helps them to live.

It's also soothing and
relaxing to listen to it.
So over all rain is cool.

A Friend(C)2005
When I need a friend
You are always there for me.
When I need a shoulder to cry on
or just need a hug.
I know I have a Friend who
I can turn to.

Or if I just need
someone to talk to.
I know You are there for me.
All day long and all night long.
I have a friend who will always
be there for me.
A friend who will never leave me.

And I'm very grateful for this
wonderful friend.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Winter(C) 11-22-2006
Winter can be a
fun time and bad.
Because it can get
really cold.

But winter can be fun.
Because you can make
hot chocolate to keep warm.
Or a nice hot bowl of soup.

Also there is Christmas.
And I love Christmas.
Stringing up pretty color lights outside
and on our Christmas tree in the house.

Putting up the Christmas decorations
and buying gifts for my family and friends.
Also getting some in return
is always fun.

Plus when it's cold enough
it will snow.
Snow is fun and pretty.
Also very cold and wet.

You can sleigh ride
and build snowmen.
Also make snow angels
and have snowball fights.

Winter can be so much fun.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Super Chubbs(C)11-26-06
What's that up
there in the sky?
Is it a bird? No!
Is it a plane?
No way!
It's super Chubbs
to save the day.

Super Chubbs
is a nickname for
my cat, Jasper.
He's super because
he makes me laugh
and smile all the time.
I love Super Chubbs.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flowers(c) 5-13-12
Purple on the outside
and white and yellow inside.
White on the outside
and white and yellow inside.
The irises are in bloom
and so very pretty.
Next to them on the
ground are little
bluish purple flowers.
Little yellow flowers
are blooming here and there.
So pretty all these
flowers are.
A beautiful gift from
God.
Thank You God!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I Thank You(C) 5-13-12
I thank You
God.
I thank You for
everything You have
given me and blessed me with.
I thank You for
my family and my cat Jasper.
I thank You for my
safe and warm home.
I thank You for
this new day.
This new beautiful day.
I thank You for the
warm weather we are having today
and the breeze to cool me off.
I thank You for the irises
and the yellow flowers,
the little yellow flowers.
And the bluish purple flowers.
Also the dandelions.
Thank You for all the trees.
Thank You for all Your
creations and sharing them with me.
I thank You so much God
and I love You so much.
Also thank You for Your Son,
Jesus.
Thank You again for everything!

Happy Mother's Day(C) 5-13-12
This poem is written
just for you.
I love You so much!
You are such a great mom.

Over the years we
had alot of fun
and alot of talks.
We shared many laughs.

We took walks,
played games,
read our books out front together,
and talked about everything.

You killed icky bugs for me
and bought me snacks, drinks,
and much more.
You always helped me when I need help.

So I just wanted to say

I love You so much!!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Daily Devotionals

Here are some Daily Devotionals.  Since I don't always post it daily on fb.  Enjoy.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Where can I flee from your presence?  If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.-Psalm 139:7-8
Our asking "Where is God?" is like a fish asking "Where is water?"  or a bird asking "Where is air?"  God is everywhere.  Equally present in Peking and Peoria.  As active in the lives of the Icelanders as in the lives of Texans.  We cannot find a place where God is not.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do the work of telling the Good News.-2 Timothy 4:5
For every hero in the spotlight, there are dozens in the shadows. They don't get the press.  They don't draw crowds.  They don't even write books!....
Behind a rock slide is a pebble.  And a revival can begin with one sermon.....
Tomorrow's Spurgeon might be mowing your lawn.  And the hero who inspires him might be nearer than you think.  He might be in your mirror.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Those people who keep their faith until the end will be saved.-Matthew 10:22
Are you discouraged as a parent?  Hang in there.  Are you pessimistic about your job?  Roll up your sleeves and go at it again. No communication in your marriage?  Give it one more shot....
The Land of Promise, says Jesus, awaits those who endure.  It is not just for those who make the victory laps or drink champagne. No sir, the Land of Promise is for those who simply remain to the end.

Hope you like them!!  :)

More story. :)

"This just in." said the news lady, "There has been an animal attack up at Swanson's Campground. No campground officials were able to comment. Also we have no confirmation as to who was attacked either. But stay tuned to TV-news." They went back to the regularly scheduled show. Alyssa and her mom just looked at each other. They were afraid. "Oh wow." said Alyssa. "I know." said her mom, "Nothing ever happens in Treeville." "I wonder who the people were." Alyssa said. "I don't know. But most likely they were out of town. Although I guess people from Treeville go camping up at the campground." replied her mom. "I don't know. I'd go with the first part. That they were from out of town. Because Swanson's nice for out of towners, but people of Treeville want to really feel like they are camping. So they'd go out to the woods and camp there." said Alyssa. "Yea." agreed her mom. * * * The next day Alyssa went to the park and jogged around. Then swung on the big swing facing the river. "Hi." said a boy's voice. Alyssa looked up. It was 16 year old Nick Hunter. He was tall and athletic. He was also very muscular. Although he didn't play any sports for Treeville. He had wavy blond hair and blue eyes. "Hi." said Alyssa, confused. For Nick never talked to her before. Alyssa was popular and was a cheerleader and well Nick wasn't popular. And he hung out with people who others considered uncool. "How are you?" asked Nick. "I'm good." said Alyssa. "That's good. Are you enjoying your summer?" asked Nick. "I am." Alyssa replied, "How's your summer?" "It's good." Nick answered, "So I am having a party on Saturday, why don't you come?" "Um.." started Alyssa, "Why? I mean we never really talked before." "I know, but let the party be the beginning. I've always had a crush on you, but thought I wasn't good enough for you. You are so popular and well, let's face it..I'm not." answered Nick, "So what do you say? You can even bring Jayme along." "Well, I don't know. But if we do decide to come, what time?" asked Alyssa. "Around 6. My parents are going out of town on Friday, but rather have the party Saturday. This way, I know for sure they won't come back, if they forgot something." said Nick. "Well, we'll see." was all Alyssa said. "Ok." said Nick and then he headed off. Alyssa was still confused. Nick talked to her for the first time and said he liked her and has a crush on her. But she wasn't sure how she really felt about it. She heard from other people in school say that Nick could be a little dangerous. Still the idea of a party sounded good.

More Of my Story

"So let me see your tattoo again." said Alyssa. Jayme showed her tattoo again. "It is nice. Does it hurt?" asked Alyssa. "No, not really." replied Jayme. "That's good." said Alyssa. "So when are you going to dye your hair?" asked Jayme. "Not sure." replied Alyssa, "Let's do something. I really want to." "We just did do something." answered Jayme, "We got out to eat and I got a tattoo." "I know, but I want to run or at least go for a walk. It's still so nice out." said Alyssa. "Well, I don't." said Jayme, flipping through a magazine. Alyssa just sat on the floor, but then got up. "Well, I will see you.tomorrow then." she said. "Ok." said Jayme. * * * Alyssa walked downstairs and out the door. She didn't see Jayme's mom anywhere, which to tell the truth, she was glad. She walked down the street and to the park. She jogged around the park and then sat on the bench and watched the ducks in the river. Then she felt a shadow fall across her back. She turned around, but when she looked, no one was behind her. She looked all around, but no one was near her. 'Weird.' she thought to herself. But she watched the ducks some more. Then figured she should head home. So she jogged home. Her mom wasn't home yet. She got a quick shower and then made supper for her mom and her. The two of them sat down to eat. "So how was work?" asked Alyssa. "It was good. How was your day? What all did you do?" her mom asked. "It was good. I hung out with Jayme. She got a tattoo today." replied Alyssa. "Do you want a tattoo?" asked her mom. "No way." replied Alyssa. "Ok. Good." said her mom. They talked and ate. While her mom watched the news, Alyssa did some dishes and then joined her mom in the room. They were watching a tv show, when a special bulletin report broke in.

To My King

So I came across this poem.  It is so good.  I really liked it alot.  I hope you will too.  :)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To my King

Make me the princess You want me to be—
Try me by fire and help me stay true.
Only give me Your love, hold me close to Your heart;
Forever and always, my hope is in You!

I want to be Yours, Your daughter, Your star;
Heaven’s light, may it always shine in my eyes.
As I turn my heart toward You and Your love,
May my life be a beautiful sacrifice.

Awaken my heart with Your soft, calling touch:
May I see You each day as You open my eyes.
I will kneel at Your feet and pour out my praise
Because a poor, beggar girl You would not despise.

Breathe on me, make me live with Your life!
May I always show others the reason You came.
I give You my talents and all I possess,
I praise You, I love You, I lift up Your Name!
(R.J.S., December 28, 2005)

Poems!

So I haven't updated in a little while.  But here are some more poems I have written.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Eagle (c) March 17, 2005
I climb up to the top
of the mountain.
When I get to the
top I see a tree.
Up high in that tree
is a nest.
So I look inside the
nest and in there
is the most beautiful
bird I've ever seen.
The bald eagle.
It's all brown except
for the top of it's head.
The top of it is all snow white.
It's beak is bright yellow.
It's such an amazing site
and such a beautiful
bird-the eagle is.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Good Stuff (c) 2005
Dad lettin' me get that
gray tabby kitten.
Taking walks with my mom
and great long talks.
That's the good stuff!
Yeah that's the good stuff.

Hanging out with friends.
Sharing lots of laughs.
Even some tears.
Makin' lots of memories.

That's the good stuff.
Yeah that's the good stuff.

Spendin' time with family.
Watchin' tv, playin games.
going out to eat or just shopping.
Spendin' all the holidays together.

That's the good stuff.
Yeah, that's the good stuff.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jesus,
please keep me safe.
Please hold me tightly
in your arms
and protect me from all around.
Please keep me safely in your arms.
Away from all the harms.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jasper (C) November 22, 2006
He's my cat and best friend.
He listens to me no matter what.
Although he barely talks back,
which I guess is good.

He purrs when he's happy
and meows when he's
hungry or mad.
Or when he wants to be heard.

He runs hyper at times
all over the house
and makes funny sounds.
He makes me laugh all the time.

He loves to play
with all things really.
Jingle balls, paper rolls,
toy mice and more.

He's such a great cat
and so much more.
He's like a best friend.
So he is my best friend.
And I love him so much.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Meadow # 3(C) November 25, 2006
As I'm walking down the road,
I pass alot of houses.
As I keep walking I see a toad
and a little furry mouse.

Once I get to the meadow I
lay on the grass.
And I look up at the sky
and let the time pass.

I lay there and look
up at the clouds in the sky.
One looks like a book.
While another looks like a fly.

I watch the birds as they
fly above from tree to tree.
Then far in the distance I hear a horse neigh.
Here in the meadow I feel so free.

In the distance I hear a loud boom,
so I get up and head
home to my room
and hide under the covers on my bed.

Hope you enjoyed all my poems!!  <3!

More of the Story...

"Are you sure there wasn't any sound?"  asked Jayme.  "Yes, I was there.  I should remember what I heard, or rather what I didn't hear."  replied Alyssa,  "And I didn't hear anything.  It was very quiet.  It was..like I said very eerie."  "Oh, wow."  said Jayme, teasingly.  "Come on!"  yelled Alyssa, "Don't make fun of me!"  "Ooh, touchy are we."  said Jayme.  "Look, I don't want to be made fun of."  said Alyssa.  "I'm sorry."  said Jayme.  "It's ok."  said Alyssa,  "But I'm serious.  Something seemed odd this morning."

They continued walking to Alyssa's house. Once they got there, they headed into the house and watched some tv.  Then after a little, Jayme headed home.  Alyssa set the table and then started to make supper for her mom and herself.  Her mom came home and changed into more comfortable clothes.

When her mom came downstairs, the two of them ate some supper.  Alyssa did the dishes. Her mom watched the news.  Then Alyssa sat down next to her mom.  "So how was your day?"  asked her mom.  "It was good.  How was your's?"  asked Alyssa.  "It was good."  replied her mom, "So what all did you do today?"  "Well, after you left, I ate breakfast and took a nap.  Then Jayme and I went running, swimming and then out to eat."  answered Alyssa.  "That's cool."  said her mom.

The next morning, Alyssa woke up early again.  She tried to fall back to sleep, but couldn't.  So she got up and started running.  She ran down the street and around the park.  Then she ran back the path into the woods.  She ran all the way to the picnic table and sat at the table.  Again it was eerily quiet.  There was no sound, nothing to be heard.  "This is too weird."  said Alyssa.  She got up and started walking to the park.  A branch cracked near by and she took off running to the park.  Once she got to the park, she slowed again to a walk.  She walked around the park.

The next afternoon, Alyssa and Jayme, along with Jayme's mom all went to Jensen's Tattoo Parlor.  They all looked through books of tattoo designs.  "Oh, I seriously like this one." said Jayme.  It was a black panther on a tree branch.  "That one is neat."  said Jayme's mom.  Alyssa looked.  "It is nice."  Alyssa agreed.  So Jayme told the tattoo artist she wanted that one.  So they went into a back room and Jayme started to get her tattoo.

"So are you going to get a tattoo?"  Jayme's mom asked Alyssa.  "No, I don't think so."  said Alyssa.  "Really?  You don't like them?"  asked Jayme's mom.  "No, it's not that.  I just don't like needles and also they are permanent.  So if I would ever decided I didn't want it anymore, well I am stuck with it."  answered Alyssa.  "Oh, well you know they do have lazer surgery to remove it."  said Jayme's mom.  "I know, but it's better not even have to go through the hassel."  said Alyssa.  "Yeah."  said Jayme's mom.  Alyssa felt out of place with Jayme's mom.  She felt like Jayme's mom sometimes didn't like her.

When Jayme was done, the three of them headed to Ein's Diner.  Then later, Jayme and Alyssa hung out in Jayme's room.

More Story...

Ok..Here is more of my story!!  Enjoy!
 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When they got to Ein's Diner, they sat at a booth in the back.  They picked up the menu and was looking through it.  "So, you really going to dye your hair?"  asked Jayme,  "I think you would look so totally different."  "I know, but like I said.  I kind of want a new change.  Don't you want me to?"  asked Alyssa,  "What is so wrong with my dying my hair?"  "It doesn't matter to me. It's your hair."  replied Jayme,  "I just said, you would look so different with dark hair."  "Ok."  said Alyssa,  "Sorry."  "It's ok.  I am sorry too, how I said it."  replied Jayme.  "It's ok."  replied Alyssa.

"Hi, my name's Dani and I will be your waitress today.  Can I start you two out with a drink?"  asked Dani.  "Sure.  I'd like a raspberry ice tea."  said Alyssa.  "I'll take a Coke Classic."  replied Jayme.  "OK.  I will be right back with the drinks."  said Dani.  She headed off.  "So what are you doing to have?"  asked Jayme.  "I'm not sure."  replied Alyssa,  "How about you?"  "I think I will have the bacon cheeseburger and seasoned fries."  said Jayme.  "Cool.  I was thinking of the turkey and bacon wrap."  said Alyssa.  "Cool.  That does look good."  said Jayme.  Dani brought them their drinks.  "So are you two ready to order?"  she asked.  They ordered their food.  Then Dani headed off to give the cook their orders.

They talked while they waited for their food to be made.  Then when the food came, they ate in silence for awhile.  "So how is it?"  Jayme asked after awhile.  "Very good."  answered Alyssa,  "How is your's?" "It's good too."  said Jayme.  "Good."  said Dani.  She overheard them as she was walking by.  Alyssa smiled.  "Do you need more drinks?"  asked Dani. "Sure."  they said.  She Dani brought them some new drinks.  They continued to eat and then when they were done they paid the bill.

"So I was running this morning."  started Alyssa,  "Around like 7 am.  And in the forest it was so quiet."  "It usually is."  said Jayme, laughing,  "I mean no one is really up that early."  "No, that's not what I mean.  I meant, there were no sounds at all.  No birds, squirrels, rabbits..nothing."  replied Alyssa,  "It was just so eerie."

Poetry time...

Ok..more poems!  Enjoy!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Rain" (c) 10-9-2007
Rain Rain
come on down.
Cool off the land.
Tired of this heat.
Ready for some cooler weather.

We could use some rain
to turn the grass green
and water the rest of our garden.
Rain Rain
come on down.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"A Warm Fall Day" (c) 10-10-2007
Standing under an old green maple tree.
Noticing the sites and sounds.
Birds chirping here and there.
A lone cricket sounds in the distance.
And over the bank a lone purple flower is to be seen.
Also you can smell the fallen leaves
that are scattered here and there.
And some are in a huge pile.
It's still very warm
like a summer's day.
Sun's shining bright
in the bright blue sky.
And clouds are here and there.
And a breeze blows
and feels so cool and refreshing.
Jasper's laying in some
of the fallen leaves.
Just relaxin' and smellin' the air
on this warm fall day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The Beggar" (C) 2-1-2008 (In Memory of Sunlight, our old cat).
Looking up at me
from the floor below.
She just sits there
and looks up at me
with her big wide yellow eyes.
Hoping I give her
something to eat or a
crumb falls on the floor.
She had plenty to eat,
yet she still begs for more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"A Peaceful Afternoon"(c) 7-24-2008
Trees so green
and grass too.
Gray clouds cover the sky,
threatening to open any minute
and have rain fall over all the land.
A gentle breeze blows
and the branches rustle back and forth.
Wind chime chimes music in the breeze.
Not much noise or sound to be heard.
Just a few birds chirping
and flying about.
A tractor sounds in the distance field.
It's a very quiet and peaceful day.

Hope you enjoyed all these.  :)

To My King..by Rosanne

So I can across this poem while reading a friend's blog.  I thought it was really good and really wanted to share it with you all.  Enjoy.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 To my King

Make me the princess You want me to be—
Try me by fire and help me stay true.
Only give me Your love, hold me close to Your heart;
Forever and always, my hope is in You!

I want to be Yours, Your daughter, Your star;

More of my Story

Ok..I figured I add some more story.  Enjoy.  :)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Her mom came in.  Alyssa breathed a sigh of relief.  "Mom, what are you doing here?"  asked Alyssa,  "Shouldn't you be at work?"  "Yes I am, but I forgot a folder here."  replied her mom,  "Why?  What's going on?"  Her mom was a secretary at the law firm.   "I was just wondering.  You scared me."  said Alyssa,  "I wasn't sure who was at the door."  "Ok."  said her mom,  "I didn't mean to scare you."  "It's ok."  said Alyssa.  "So what are you doing up so early?"  asked her mom.  "Couldn't sleep."  replied Alyssa.  "Did you go running?"  asked her mom.  "Yes."  replied Alyssa.  "Cool."  said her mom. Her mom got the folder from her office and then said bye to Alyssa.  Then headed back to work.

Alyssa finished her breakfast.  Then laid back on the couch.  She fell asleep for a little.  The next time she woke up, it was after 11 am.  Her cell phone was ringing.  "Hello?"  asked Alyssa.  "Hi.  It's Jayme."  said Jayme.  Jayme Chamberlain is Alyssa's best friend.  She is also 16 years old.  "How are you?"  asked Jayme.  "I am doing good."  replied Alyssa.  "That's good."  replied Jayme.  "How are you?"  asked Alyssa.  "I am good."  said Jayme,  "So do you want to do anything today?"  "Sure, what do you have in mind?"  asked Alyssa.  "How about going for a run and then go swimming?"  asked Jayme.  "Sure."  said Alyssa.  "Ok.  I will be over in about twenty minutes."  said Jayme.  "Ok.  See you soon."  said Alyssa.  They then hung up.

About 20 minutes later, Jayme was there. Alyssa locked the door and the two of them went running.  They ran down the street and then around the park.  Then they ran back to Alyssa's house.  They grabbed their bathing suits and towels and then headed down to the community swimming pool.  They headed into the locker room and changed into their suits.  Then put their towels on two lawn chairs.  After that, they jumped into the pool and started swimming.  "So I was thinking and then I talked to my mom.  She is totally cool with it."  started Jayme, pausing for effect.  Alyssa stared at her.  "What?"  asked Alyssa, curiously.  "I am going to get a tattoo."  replied Jayme.  "Oh, cool."  said Alyssa,  "Of what?"  "Not sure yet.  Maybe a flower or a butterfly."  said Jayme,  "Or maybe a black cat."  "A black cat would be cool."  replied Alyssa.  "Yeah.  You should come and get a tattoo with me."  Jayme said.  "No, thanks."  said Alyssa,  "I hate needles and not sure if I would like having a tattoo."  "Ok."  said Jayme, lazily.  "I was thinking of dying my hair."  replied Alyssa.  "Really?  I thought you liked being a blond."  asked Jayme,  "What color would you dye it?"  "Yeah, I do like blond, but I was thinking a change.  Maybe a dark brown color."  answered Alyssa.  "Oh wow.  You would look so different."  said Jayme,  "Why the sudden change?"  "I don't know.  I just wanted to try something new."  replied Alyssa.  "What does your mom think?"  asked Jayme.  "She said she would help me dye it, if I was serious about it."  answered Alyssa.  "Oh, wow."  said Jayme.  "And if I don't like it, it will grow out fast."  said Alyssa.  "Yeah."  said Jayme.

They swam some more and then tanned for awhile.  Then swam some more.  After that they dried off and changed back into their clothes.  Then headed to Ein's Diner.

Story Time

So I figured, since all I've been posting lately are poems..I'd share with you a story I have been writing on.  Please do not steal my work. Also everything is totally made up.  So if the names I use are anyone's, it's totally coincidence.  Thanks.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was an early summer morning in a little town called Treeville. 16 year old, Alyssa Blackwell was awake.  Alyssa is 5'5" and very skinny.  She was also athletic. She has long blond platinum hair and blue eyes. She had a nightmare and couldn't fall back to sleep.  So she decided to get up and go running.  She loved to run. She ran down the street and to the park.  She ran around the park and then down the path near the park and into the woods.  She jogged all the way back the path.  She loved going back here.  It was so peaceful and quiet.  Plus hardly anyone ever comes back here.  She jogged all the way back to the end of the trail.  It came out to a flat area with a picnic table.  She sat at the picnic table. She listened to the sounds, but it was unusually quiet.  No birds were chirping, no squirrels or chipmunks scurrying around.  Also no rabbits hopping.  "Weird."  thought Alyssa.  She sat there alittle bit longer, but again didn't hear anything.  It was starting to creep Alyssa out.  So she got up and started jogging to the park.

All of a sudden, a branch snapped.  Alyssa stopped running and jumped.  She listened, but still couldn't hear anything.  So she continued on her way.  She was near the end of the trail, when another branch snapped.  So Alyssa quickly ran the rest of the way, but on the way out she tripped over something.  She looked down at her hands.  They were just red.  She looked at her legs and knees.  She cut her knees, but not too bad.  So she got up and brushed the dirt off her knees.  Then looked to see what she tripped over, but there was nothing there.  She listened once again and then quickly headed to the park.  It felt too strange there. Once she got into the park, she went to the bathroom and washed her hands and knees. Then sat down at a table to catch her breath.

Later she headed home and cleaned her knees again with peroxide. Then she decided to grab some breakfast.  So she grabbed a packet of poptarts.  Then sat at the table and opened them and was out to eat them, when the back door handle started to turn and the door started to open.  Alyssa was scared.  Her mom was at work and her dad had left when she was little.  So who could it be at her door.  Alyssa quickly headed into the living room and watched the door from there. Then the door handle turned and the door opened.

Poems..

Here are some more poems I have written.  Hope you all enjoy them.  :)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"To Town"(C) 10-9-2007
 Into our car and
down our driveway we go.
Dad asks us "which way
shall we go to town?
Marshmellow way or twisty turny way?"
We laugh and choose our way.
We go the marshmellow way.
Off of our road and onto the next.
We pass our "marshmellows".
They really are straw bales in a
white plastic type bag to cover them.
We pass them and continue to town.
What a fun trip to town.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Clouds"(C) 10-9-2007
Watching the clouds
as they float on by.
One looks like a cat
looking back at it's tail.
While three others look like angels.
One standing, one sitting and the last kneeling.
So neat they are.
Then they float on
and change shapes.
Another looks like a wolf
howling at the moon.
And one looks like
a husky's head.
While another looks
like a cop directing traffic.
And one looks like a man sitting on the ground.
So neat the clouds are.
And again they float on by.
And change shapes once more.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Untitled"(C)10-17-2007
Clouds cover the sky
in a grayish color.
Sun's trying to poke through,
but having no luck.
Birds chirping and fly around.
Ducks fly above in a "V".
Leaves are changing colors
and falling off the trees
to the ground below.
Look to the mountains
and see a hazy fog.
The temperature's still warm.
Unusually warm for October.
Butterflies and bees are still around.
Even flies are hanging around too.
It's so peaceful and quiet.
Hardly any sounds are to be heard.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"He is Grumpy"(C)3-23-2008
Hiss, hiss.
Growl, growl.
Meow,meow.
Slap, slap.
That is the sounds
that come from my cat.
Slap, slap is from him
hitting my shoes with his paws.
He is grumpy and mad.
Why? I'm not  quite sure.
But hiss, hiss.
growl, growl.
Meow, meow.
That is the sounds
that come from my cat.
All through our walk,
through the yard.
I can't get too close to him.
He sure is grumpy today.

Hope you all liked my poems.  :)

Some more Poems

Here are some more poems I wrote.  Enjoy them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The Meadow"#2(c)-May 2nd-5, 2005
I'm walking down the streets
to get to the meadow and I
see a field of beets.
They are growing very high.

Also along the way
I see wildflowers growing
and they sway
from the wind blowing.

Once I get to the meadow, I take it all in.
And around and around
and around I spin
until I am dizzy and fall to the ground.

And while on the ground
I look up at the sky.
There is a cloud up there that is big and round.
And one that looks like a slice of pie.

Also I just lay on the grass

and continue looking up at the sky
and let the time pass
me by.

Then I get up and head
home and write
while in bed
about my wonderful night.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"My Best Friend"(c) Oct. 1,2004
I have a Best Friend
who's always there for me.
No matter what time of day it is.
He never leaves my side.

He's always there right beside me.
He doesn't care what I look
like or what I wear.
He doesn't care if I am rich or poor.

I can talk to Him about
anything and everything.
I love my Best Friend.
He's the greatest Friend ever!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 "Funny Poem"(C)11-30-06
Went to a party the other night
and it seemed alright
at first, then turned into a fright
with everyone getting into a fight.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Out Front"(C) 5-2-2007
It's so beautiful out here.
There are dandelions all over the yard.
You can smell onion grass being cut in the air.
Birds singing up in the trees.
A gentle breeze blows and everything
sways back and forth.
Sun's shining down brightly.
Across the road,
the mountain trees are
blooming with green leaves.
All the trees are blooming
and leaves grow all over them.
It's such a beautiful
site here out front.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Wishin'"(c)6-23-2007
Every night it's the same.
I wish on the first star that I see.
But my wishes never
seem to come true.
I think why don't
they come true.
Maybe I'm wishin' on
the wrong star or
just wishin' the wrong thing.
I'm just wishin'.

Hope you enjoyed these poems.  :)

Poems Galore...

Since I am off and  have time today I figured I add some more poems.  Enjoy them all.  :)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Lost"(c) 2-26-2007
I'm lost in this town
I call home.
No one really knows me.
So I walk further away
and become even more lost.

I'm lost in a field
of cornstalks.
Miles and miles of cornstalks.
I scream for help,
but no one can hear me.

I'm lost on an interstate.
Miles and miles of nothing
but the road.
I try to flag someone
down, but no one stops.

I'm lost in this
big world and no
one is around to help me.
To help me find my way
back to what I know.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 "The Red Balloon"(C)2-28-2007
A little boy had a red balloon
and held onto it tight.
He held onto it tightly
until he went home.
He went in to the house
and asked his mom for a marker.
Once his mom gave him
the marker, he wrote "I love You" on it.
Then he went outside
and let it go.
It soared higher and higher.
His mom came out and
got tears to her eyes,
when her little boy said it's a present
for his older sister in Heaven.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"This Is My Life"(c)3-1-2007
My cat, Jasper and all cats.
Poetry and novels.
God and His Son, Jesus.
Reading the Bible and Bible Verses online.

This is my life.

Spending time with my

family and best friend.
Playing games, going to the movies,
or just staying home and talk.
This is my life.

No big fancy vacations
and no big wild parties
are just fine with me.
No big crowds around me is great.
This is my life.

I'm quiet and shy.
I may not be tall and skinny.
And I have brown hair instead of blond.
I may not be popular, but hey,
This is who I am and this is my life.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"The Cheetah"(c) 3-12-2007

Tan colored fur and black dots
is an animal who can
run really really fast.
It's called the cheetah.

I see it running through
the jungle very fast
in between all of the trees
and then stopping to take a drink from the lake.

Then running very fast
to get back home to
his family and to supper.
Cheetahs are neat animals.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok...that is all the poems for today.  Hope you enjoyed them all.  :)
